Elizabeth Alexandra Zubowicz, MD, FACS, FASMBS is a board-certified general surgeon. She specializes in bariatric surgery and hernia surgery. She performs both open as well as minimally invasive surgery, with a focus on robotic surgery and its advancement in the realm of general surgery.

Dr. Zubowicz is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, Americas Hernia Society, and she is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) . She has presented at numerous regional and national conferences and has been published in multiple peer-reviewed publications. 

Dr. Zubowicz is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She completed her residency training in general surgery at the Medstar-Georgetown General Surgery Program in Washington, DC.

She has an interest in medical mission work and has been on several medical mission trips, in both Ecuador and in the Philippines.  Her husband is active duty with the United States Army, and they have one daughter Gabrielle.
