Do I Have Colon Cancer?
Have you been asking yourself the question “do I have colon cancer?”
With about one person in 23 susceptible to developing colon cancer, this is a serious and prevalent disease that can be fatal if disregarded.
Below are some of the early symptoms of colon cancer for you to keep in mind.
Warning Signs of Colon Cancer
While there are no clearly defined symptoms of cancer in the colon, there are a handful of warning signs which might indicate a larger issue.
These warning signs include the following:
Changes in your bowel movements
Bloody stool (bright red or tar-colored)
Unintended weight loss
Narrow stools
Constipation
Diarrhea
The feeling that the bowel has not emptied entirely
Abdominal discomfort (gas pain, bloating, cramping etc.)
Persistent fatigue
Newly diagnosed anemia
Colon Cancer Risk Factors
Certain lifestyle factors including obesity, smoking, heavy alcohol consumption, or a stagnant lifestyle can make you more susceptible to developing colon cancer.
Additionally, if you have a personal or a family history of colon or rectal cancer, chronic inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or adenomatous polyps you should disclose this with your physician.
Also remember to disclose any additional warning signs discussed above to your doctor.
